The Central OH Chapter of RIMS Scholarship Program is open to students who are entering or currently enrolled in undergraduate studies at an accredited college or university. Eligibility is for students who are active in insurance coursework or related majors. The program is intended to promote interest in a career of Risk Management & Insurance. Students who reside or attend schools in Central Ohio are encouraged to apply.
Awards are usually granted in the amount of $1,000 each. The Chapter makes awards to several winners. One outstanding recipient is given award designated in honor of Paul Marohn who is a late member of the Central OH insurance community and was a strong proponent of insurance industry education. In addition, one or more students may be selected for sponsorship at the RIMS Annual Conference & Exhibition.

Be sure to check back frequently to learn about if the Scholarship Application Form is updated. A new or updated form may be posted up until to the beginning of the application period on September 15, 2005. Older versions of the application will be accepted.
· APPLICATION WINDOW - Scholarship applications are only accepted from September 15, 2005 through December 15, 2005. Applications that become received prior to or after the application period may not be eligible.
· DEADLINE - Application deadline is December 15, 2005.
· INTERVIEWS - Scholarship finalists have participated at voluntary interviews with the Chapter's Scholarship Committee during past years. The interview is not a required part of the application. If held, interviews take place in the Columbus, OH area during January 2006.
· AWARDS - Central OH RIMS will generally announce awards by April 2006. Return to our website for updates.
Include a copy of most recent grade transcript (a degree audit report is acceptable, subject to verification if you win) including overall grade point average (GPA) and grade average within major.
Include a copy of resume including scholastic accomplishments, work history, extra-curricular activities, special skills, etc.

In addition to a scholarship award, applicants can indicate interest to attend the RIMS Annual Conference & Exhibition. The Chapter may provide sponsorship to the conference by furnishing travel & enrollment. The Chapter my also choose to sponsor student education by supporting any of RIMS Anita Benedetti Student Involvement Program, Spencer Educational Foundation or the Griffith Foundation for Insurance Education.
